I have been borrowing a 2001 LincolnLS 5 Speed V6, which is probably one of the finest vehicles ever made . It is having an issue with overheating. I posted it on the Lincoln vs. Cadillac forum ( ), and they thought it might be a bubble in the line, or the thermostat ( Car Overheats Intermittently Lincoln LS ) . The car only overheats about once a month, and when it is in heavy traffic. I have found that a fix to the problem is to put the heater on full blast -- then the temperature needle climbs back to normal. So if I am able to get the car to not overheat by blasting the heater, what are the likely causes of the problem? Fan switch? Thermostat?

    Thanks!

Do the fans come on normally? Can you hear them (or have you ever been able to hear them)?

I have heard them before, but I cannot say if they come on normally...
