Cool car. Not the most cohesive as far as looks, but overall pretty good.

Cool. The cage needs some work in the form of gussets and NASCAR-bars, but it's a nice project.

For some reason I was fully expecting to see an Arby's and then there it was.

F'in love it!Whats wrong with tacked on flares anyways? They serve a purpose.
#19
That is the worst combination of colors I have ever seen on and in a car.
Thoughts expressed are those of the poster and not those of some long dead guy who I choose to speak for me.

Do I hate it? Pretty much.Would it be fun to drive? Most likely

Strip the hella naff, y0! baby poo brown paint down to the metal, let it rust, and slap on a roof rack. Hilarity should ensue.
#23
i remember seeing that build in its earlier stages.with all the custom fab work he did, he really blew it with the tacked on fenders and color, and color matching....
honestly if that thing was just rattle canned black it would look a ton better, and thats a 50 dollar paint solution.

Yeah, I think so... He has an Elise as well and posted something about the Elise last week.I think a nice gunmetal (anything dark, really (blue/purple/green/etc.) with some simpler wheels (5/6-spoke?) would have been perfect. As it stands, it's badass but the color and wheels just don't flow as well as they could have.
Something like this would work much better than those Works.![]()
#25
has a lot of potential to look good. Those VS-XX look horrible on older car designs though. I don't even like them on S13s
swap is sick though. and some laminex on the headlights would look good to i think
#26
Is it how I would have done it? No.Is it badass? Yes, very much so.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

There are so many things in/on that car that are SO close to being cool...just too many wrong steps (at least for my personal taste) to consider it a good job. The GTR on the BMW badge (just think it's a little tacky), the Hello-Kitty on the steering wheel, pink in the engine bay, unpainted fender flares...all just little touches that took it a little too far over the edge for my taste.I'm sure the owner is more than happy with it, so
to him

I can't believe how long this thing took to make. I just finished reading through the whole write-up (yeah.... not gonna be productive at work at all apparently), and learned that I am sure as hell never going to do a project like this. I have a new appreciation for the level of dedication it requires to undertake a project like this. And while there are certainly aspects of the car that I am not the biggest fan of, I won't mention any of them. After all, who am I to criticize this man's work when I know full well that I don't have what it takes to create it's equal.
Well done.

have GOT to do something with that intercooler.other than that I don't think it looks too bad. different at least.

This is my buddy Newman's build. I've been following this build withfrom the start. I'm sure he probably finds a lot of pride in how ugly everyone thinks it is. He thought it was a ridiculous project from the start, and he never takes anything too seriously. Regardless the guy is a genius and does some pretty cool builds with his cars. He's also in the process of doing the first 5X114.5 swap onto the Elise.
